Best Employers of 2013 announced
„Lietuvos draudimas“, „Danske Bank“ and „Roche Baltic Pharmaceuticals“ became the Best Employers of 2013 in Baltic States and were awarded at the gala event held on the 8th of October.
“The title of the Best Employer is a great example of how employees can determine the reputation, prominence and popularity of their employer in the market. The critical mass of Best Employers Study respondents are employees who appreciate the operational culture, attitude towards them, reliability and working conditions in their workplace. This study provides the opportunity for the employers to take employees’ perspective on their business, identify areas for further improvements, gain experience from the companies which offer the best conditions for employees, increase employee engagement and competitiveness of a company. This is extremely relevant now, when the markets are recovering and the competition for employees is growing”, said Paulius Avižinis, the CEO of management consulting and training company “OVC Consulting” which is conducting the Best Employers Study in Baltic States.
Best Employers Study has been conducted in more than 30 countries worldwide for several decades. The best employers are determined based on the methodology of globally recognized company “Aon Hewitt”. The Study is a strategic tool for managers and HR specialists as research results together with analysis and recommendations allow to plan and implement effective programs for creating engaging working environment that leads to sustainable business results.
Employers are evaluated according to five criteria: sustainability of human capital, employer attractiveness, high performance culture, trusted leadership and employee engagement. The index of employee engagement is a critical determinant of the ranking of the companies. This year there were three companies which were able to reach the highest indices in Baltic countries.

Baltic companies from manufacturing, IT, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, professional services, public services, wholesale and retail, banking, insurance and maintenance service sectors participated in the study. There were more than 11,000 respondents including 250 senior executives in Best Employers Study 2012-2013 in Lithuania and Latvia.
The best employers were honored in the Best Employers Awards event attended by Evaldas Gustas, the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Lithuania, Nijole Kudabienė, Director of Association of Human Resources Professionals, Andželika Rusteikienė and Jaroslav Burdek, the representatives of “Investors’ Forum Lithuania” and “AON Hewitt”, global consulting company.
In 2012 “Lietuvos draudimas”, “Tele2”, “Adform Lithuania” , “Philip Morris Baltic”, “Sanofi-aventis Lietuva” and “Roche Lithuania” were entitled as Best Employers of Lithuania. Last year “Lietuvos draudimas” and “Adform Lithuania” were among the Best Employers in Eastern and Central Europe.
The first Best Employers Study in Eastern and Central Europe was conducted in 2001. Organizations in Lithuania are participating in this study from 2012, and organizations in the other Baltic countries joined in 2013. The study is conducted by “OVC Consulting”, management consulting and training company, associate member of AON Hewitt Alliance.
