Game rules

The aim of the game is to get to know each other better through fun, surprising, and sometimes difficult options. Each round, one player must choose between two difficult options. The other players try to guess which option was chosen.

This intriguing and unpredictable game sparks conversation, laughter, and insight. It’s a great way to discover how your friends, family, or colleagues view you — and what you learn might just surprise you.

⚠️ Important: This game is best played among people who are at least somewhat familiar with each other. It’s not intended for complete strangers.

How It Works

The game presents a series of hypothetical and often unrealistic scenarios.

In each scenario, the player must choose Option A or Option B — no alternatives allowed.

Some situations may sound illogical, absurd, or even slightly dark — but remember, it’s just a game.

Avoid overthinking or adding extra context. Make your choice based solely on the given scenario.

After selecting an option, you can explain your decision, share your reasoning, and discuss your impressions.

Tip: Go with your gut! You may find that your choices would change if you played again — and that’s the beauty of it. Every session reveals something new, even with the same group of people.

Players: 2–8

Playtime: 30–90 minutes

Game Elements

  1. Question cards – Each card presents a hypothetical scenario with two possible choices: A or B.
  2. Decision cards (A & B) – Each player receives a set of two cards (A & B) used to indicate their chosen answer (includes 8 sets for up to 8 players).

Preparing for the Game

Before starting, give each player one set of decision cards (A and B). Shuffle the Question Cards and place them in a central pile or use an alternative method of selecting questions based on your preferred game mode.

Principles of the game

The game can be played in several ways — some outlined below, and others you’re free to invent! The central idea is simple:

  • One player draws or receives a Question Card presenting a tough choice.
  • That player secretly selects Option A or B using their decision card.
  • The other players try to guess the chosen option and explain their reasoning.
  • The decision-making player then reveals their choice and shares why they chose it.

You can mix things up by choosing how the questions are assigned:

  • Randomly draw from the deck
  • Vote on who should answer
  • Choose a card for another player
  • Let players pick their own question from a selection

You can start with one of the suggested ways below and then improvise as you go!

Basic Game Mode

  1. Decide on the Number of Rounds

Players decide on the number of rounds they want to play. Each round includes one scenario per player.

Example: With 4 players, one round = 4 situations (one per player).

Players can choose to play one, two, three or more rounds.

  1. Choose the Starting Player

You can get creative here! For example:

  • The player who most recently spoke to their parents
  • Or whoever has the brightest socks – feel free to make it fun!
  1. Draw a Question Card

The starting player draws a question card and reads the scenario aloud.

  1. Make a Secret Decision

The player then selects an answer card (A or B) and places it face down in front of them.

  1. Other Players Guess

Each remaining player chooses their own A or B card as a guess and places it face down.

  1. Reveal Guesses & Discuss

Players reveal their guesses one by one, beginning with the player to the left of the decision-maker. Each player briefly explains their reasoning.

  1. Reveal the Actual Decision

The decision-making player turns over their card and explains their choice.

  1. Open Discussion

Players are welcome to share thoughts, insights, or reactions. This can lead to some fun and meaningful conversations.

  1. Continue Clockwise

The next player (moving clockwise) becomes the decision-maker and draws a new question card. Repeat steps 4–8.

  1. Keep Going

Play continues until you’ve completed your chosen number of rounds.

Second Game Mode: Choose a Scenario for Someone Else

  1. Decide how many rounds you’ll play (one decision-making scenario per player, per round).
  2. Each player is dealt three Question Cards, which they can look at and hold in their hands.
  3. Choose a starting player (e.g. the one who last spoke to their parents). Play moves clockwise.
  4. The starting player chooses one of their three cards and gives it to the next player.
  5. That player reads the scenario aloud and chooses Option A or B, placing their Decision Card face down.
  6. Other players (including the one who gave the card) guess the decision with their A/B card, face down.
  7. Players reveal and explain their guesses, starting with the person to the left of the decision-maker.
  8. The decision-maker reveals their answer and explains their reasoning.
  9. The decision-maker then chooses a card from their hand for the next player (clockwise).
  10. After every player has answered once, draw new cards to bring each hand back to three. Shuffle used cards back into the deck.
  11. A new round begins with a different starting player.
  12. Keep playing for as many rounds as your group agrees on.

Third Game Mode: Choose Your Own Scenario

  1. At the beginning of the game, each player chooses one Question Card from all available cards.
  2. Gameplay then follows the same process as Mode One or Mode Two, depending on your group’s preference.
