Collaboration and team strengthening

Earlier, reaching an agreement on the principles of joint work was the most important thing in participation in team building, while today the meaning of joint work must also be described. With the pace of work increasing and teams acting remotely on an increasing number of occasions, it is becoming very important to strengthen the team spirit: the collaboration of team members must be viewed as pursuing a common goal, creating mutual trust, and emphasising the importance and benefits of joint work. Successful team building results in greater employee involvement, motivation and awareness, all of which ensure better performance.

Successful team collaboration is ensured by the following:

• Awareness of the team’s common goal, as well as understanding the common goal, the ability to describe its meaning and importance, and the ability to integrate one’s personal goals into the team’s common goal;
• Team members knowing each other: communication of their views, attitudes, strengths and weaknesses and in this manner creating trust in each other;
• Agreements on teamwork, which the team adheres to in order to communicate effectively and constructively deal with non-standard and daily situations.
