Manager competence assessment and development centres

These are places where managers can test their managerial competences, where practical assignments developed with consideration of the key competences important for successful management of organisations are used, and where individual work with a consultant provides feedback on strengths and areas requiring improvement.

A typical programme of an assessment and development centre consists of the following:

  • Individual practical assignments. Special modelling of work and business situations.
  • Group practical assignments. The group is provided with a problem that must be solved.
  • Professional questionnaires. Assessment of abilities to organise individual activities, personal effectiveness, and particularities of teamwork.
  • Case assessments. Independent work to find appropriate solutions.
  • Reflection interview with a consultant. Self-analysis and results assessment after each assignment.

Participation in the DEVELOPMENT CENTRE is completed by an individual feedback session with each participant. During the session, the consultant’s insights and conclusions are summarised, the manager’s strengths and areas requiring improvement are discussed, and a customised and binding subsequent growth plan is developed.

Participation in the ASSESSMENT CENTRE is completed by a discussion of the detailed written report about the participant’s managerial strengths and areas requiring improvement prepared by the consultant

Benefits of assessment and development centres for the organisation

This solution is beneficial, if:

  • You wish to impartially find out how current and potential organisation managers are actually successful in using competences that are important to your organisation, and where and which reserves are available and can be used;
  • You would like to provide your managers with an opportunity to experience a certain challenge and improve differently than through a typical training;
  • You wish to objectively assess the appropriateness and potential of candidates or reserve to key managerial positions.

Benefits of assessment and development centres for the participant:

  • Objective learning about oneself as a manager with the assistance of professionals;
  • Awareness of one’s strengths and behaviours that restrict managerial success;
  • Development, in cooperation with a consultant at the development centre, of a targeted and motivating subsequent growth plan.
